Welcome to your 30-day Magic-Lamp Challenge

Thank you for your participation on the FonGenie Magic-Lamp Sales Challenge!

As a current qualified retail or small business owner, you have been selected as one of many business owners in the US to take advantage of our 30-day free trial. As promised, FonGenie will compensate for your time and effort; up to $500 in cash or American Express gift certificate if we are unable to increase your sales, business efficiency or save you money.

In order to maximize the result and outcome from the Magic-Lamp Sales Challenge, there are five (5) simple rules to follow. These guidelines are mandatory and must be followed during your participation.

  • FonGenie is your new best friend for the next 30 days and it must be active at all times.
  • Follow suggestions and best practices provided by the FonGenie team.
  • Update your daily specials for customers to hear when calling your business. Update the Post Greeting with an intro or a teaser and at least one menu item with the specifics and description of your daily special.
  • Actively tag and take notes on calls received from callers by using the FonGenie Live Caller ID 2.0.
  • Review and take actions from the weekly metrics and performance assessment.

Your Next steps:

1. Create your 30-day free trial account.

You should now have received an email from FonGenie with a link / customized URL specific to your business as well as instructions to create your account. Please click on the link from the email to activate your 30-day free trial.

2. Initial setup.

It is recommended to start the initial setup of your account with one of the available pre-defined FonGenie templates (see the FonGenie User’s Guide in the support section of your account). These templates provide a quick foundation with a pre-populated greeting and menus to serve as an example to visualize what your customers will hear when calling your business.

3. Personalize your FonGenie.

Personalize your FonGenie to suite your business needsYou have either customized your greeting and menus or chosen one of the pre-populated templates from the initial setup. When calling your newly assigned FonGenie telephone number, you will hear greetings, menu options and responses as they are typed on your menu and greetings template. Please note that all of the text can be edited and should be personalized specific to your business.

Please refer to the FonGenie Quick Start Guide or User’s Guide for details on customization and personalization of your FonGenie.

4. Testing your FonGenie

Test your FonGenie account by directly calling the FonGenie telephone number that you chose during the sign up process. This 10 digit phone number, that also serves as your account ID, can also be found on the top right of your account page.

Please make test calls to hear the sound of your greetings, menus and responses typed during your personalization of the FonGenie account. By default, FonGenie will greet callers with a female voice, but you have a total of 3 choices consisting of 2 female and 1 male voice.

5. Activating your FonGenie

Every new FonGenie account requires a FonGenie number, either a telephone number with your area code or a toll-free number. If desired, multiple numbers can be activated for call tracking.

At this point, you will have to make a decision on:

  • Solution A: Continue to receive telephone calls from your existing business telephone number.
  • Solution B: Use the new telephone number assigned from FonGenie as your primary business telephone number.

For solution A, Once satisfied with your FonGenie personalization, it’s time to setup a basic call-forward from your existing business telephone number to the newly assigned FonGenie telephone number.

To enable call-forwarding, you need to enter a code from your physical business telephone that receives incoming customers calls. The widely accepted call-forward code is *72.

Please follow the simple steps below:

  1. Pick up your business telephone and dial *72 followed by the 11 digit FonGenie telephone number you chose. Example. *72 1 650 200 4400.
  2. Depending on your local telephone service, you will either hear a tone or beep to confirm the call forwarding has been successfully enabled or you will hear your FonGenie greeting.
  3. From any telephone, please call your business telephone number to make sure call forwarding is working properly.

If this doesn’t work, you will need to verify the call-forwarding steps with your local telephone company as the procedures may vary or your business does not have a call-forwarding services, which needs to be enabled from your local telephone company.

Note:

  • To disable call forwarding, pick up your business telephone and dial *73.
  • If using FonGenie with your existing business telephone number (E.g. 650-965-3189) set to call-forward to your newly assigned FonGenie telephone number (E.g. 650-200-4400), please do not enter (650-965-3189) on you “Transfer to Phone” actions on the Greetings and Menu page in your account.
